Restoring Function and Improving Quality of Life
Our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) services are designed to help patients recover from illness, injury, or surgery and return to optimal function. Whether you’re managing chronic pain or healing from an acute condition, our team provides individualized treatment plans to restore mobility and independence.
Treatment for Acute and Long-Term Conditions
PM&R at Life Medical addresses both immediate recovery and ongoing health concerns. We work closely with patients to build comprehensive care plans that improve function, reduce pain, and enhance long-term quality of life.
This approach is especially effective for patients living with musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, or post-surgical needs. Our team uses evidence-based therapies and advanced rehabilitation techniques to maximize recovery while supporting the patient’s overall well-being.

Detailed Description of Treatment Modalities
Ultrasound
Ultrasound therapy utilizes high-energy, very-high-frequency sound waves (well above the range of human hearing) to help ease painful joints and muscles. The hand-held ultrasound applicator focuses ultrasound waves into the affected joints and muscles. The treatment is completely painless and free of side effects.
Therapeutic Exercise Facility
Therapeutic exercise helps address chronic conditions such as degenerative joint disease and myofascial pain syndrome. Our on-site gym includes Nautilus equipment, a motorized treadmill, a stationary bike, and free weights.
Spinal Decompression
Spinal decompression is a non-invasive, non-surgical, pain-free, FDA-cleared alternative to back and neck surgery. This therapy is developed to treat disc herniation, bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, posterior facet syndrome, back or neck pain, numbness, tingling, and sciatica.
Phonophoresis
This process uses high frequency, low intensity ultrasound waves to enhance the delivery of medications through the skin, improving the absorption of topically applied analgesics and anti-inflammatory agents.
Iontophoresis
Iontophoresis introduces anti-inflammatory medication through the skin via a mild electrical current. It is a safe and effective alternative to injections, oral medications, and transdermal gels or patches. It minimizes potential tissue trauma from injections and has few side effects.
Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy in physical therapy involves the use of cold packs or cold therapy machines that circulate ice water with compression around an injured or post-surgical area. This treatment helps reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation, promoting faster recovery and improved comfort during healing.
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)
TENS therapy uses a safe low-voltage electrical current to relieve pain. Two electrodes are connected to the skin closest to the area of pain, creating a circuit of electrical impulses that travel along nerve fibers. The electrical current can be adjusted in intensity and frequency.
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
Low Level Laser Therapy is an FDA-approved light therapy method that stimulates healing at the cellular level. It typically uses Red and Infrared LED, along with low intensity infrared laser (830 nm). LLLT is used to treat osteoarthritis, acute and chronic injuries to joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles, including rotator cuff tears. It is also effective for overuse syndromes such as carpal tunnel and plantar fasciitis, and for chronic non-healing skin ulcers.
On-Site Gym for Rehabilitation
Our clinic features a fully equipped gym to support recovery and strength training. Patients have access to a variety of equipment—including a Smith machine, cable machine, and Nordic bench—designed to enhance rehabilitation and long-term wellness.
